100th Anniversary of the Passage of the 19th Amendment
Despite Covid Restrictions, AAUW Kaua`i Chapter created a Celebration of this event at the Kaua`i Society of Artists (KSA) Gallery at Kukui Grove Center, Lihue on the Garden Island of Kaua`i.
AAUW installed a Historical Timeline depicting the Women’s Movement from the mid-1800’s through the Passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920. This installation was open for 2 weeks and viewed by over 300 visitors. A video of this Timeline is documented below:

AAUW invited local Kaua`i organizations to participate in a One-Day Celebration on Aug 18, 2020. Groups included the Girls Scouts, Mokihana Club, the YWCA and two Zonta Clubs on the Island.

The Kaua`i Society of Artists held an Invited Artists Show at the same time titled “Celebrating Women”. Visitors to the KSA Gallery, studied the AAUW Historical Timeline and then viewed artistic images of women of all backgrounds created by local artists.

Many AAUW Kaua`i Members braved the windy, rainy and cold morning to hold our AAUW banner and wave signs along with over 1,500 other people (and dogs) willing to stand up for Women’s RIGHTS and ALL HUMAN RIGHTS. YES, WE CAN…stand UNITED!

Walk to End Alzheimer’s
